Sugar Ray kicking the crap out of Roberto Duran was one of my favorite fights.  NO MAS!

Makes me feel old to see all of these celebrities pass in the last two years.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Sugar Ray didn't "beat" him. He spent the fight running away from him like a little bitch and somehow the judges gave him the decision.

But, no. Hagler never fought again. He moved to Italy and became a movie star over there.

Marvin Hagler was part of many of the greatest boxing matches in modern history. May he rest in peace.

I read, his death was precipitated by complications from a Covid vaccine. Any truth to that story?

Troof!!

Leonard couldn't beat Hagler with a 2x4 on his best day.
Actually that's when I realized for sure that professional boxing was fixed.

Anyway, sad to hear of Marvin's passing.
He was among the very best of those blue-collar type of fighters who stepped into the ring and took care of business.
He will be missed.

Unpossible. The vaccines are all safe and effective.

Ask Hank Aaron.

I never liked Sugar Ray Leonard.  Too dooshy.
Being from an area close-ish to Detroit, I should have cheered for Tommy Hit-Man Hearns when he fought Hagler but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was a big Hagler fan.

:_thumbup: Both were great fighters. You got your money's worth with those two.

Roy Jones Jr was my favorite boxer. He put on a show every time he was in the ring.

RIP Hagler.

He was good too!
But I would have to choose Tyson as my favorite. He just destroyed people in the ring.

The biggest thing I remember Tyson for was the Buster Douglas fight. It was a midnight fight Eastern time in Japan and watching Tyson walking up to the ring I knew he was going to lose that fight. Worse, I think HE knew he was going to lose that fight. He was never the same after that one.

Marvin was Prolific at "The Art" He would take someone apart Piece By Piece.

If you ran your Mouth he was Savage.

I was Blessed to work at Carrier Corp. City of Industry with Joel De La Hoya for a year.

They would shut down the entire Plant to watch Oscar Fight.

The best fights ever were always announced By Howard Cosell.

Gotta love the Bean!!!

Many thought he was just a sideshow, but he had legitimate, devastating knockout power in both hands.
His stamina was always his weak point, but for 3 or 4 rounds, there were few who could trade punches with him and walk away.
