I'm not going to censor myself or ask anyone else to. If this is too much then it may have out lasted its usefulness.

It's been a pain in my ass since it started so I'm fine either way.

I don't want a forum where we have to regulate what we say.

I get shit on here more than most of you guys. I rarely get indignant unless someone starts.

This has been a tough endeavor for me and it's making me tired.

I have to sit through cnc saying that people should die for being stupid enough to think a liberal thought, but I get shit all over for criticizing musk for saying that people on snap are parasites.

I want everyone to be able to voice their opinions, but if this is becoming a place where opinions are intolerable, then I don't want to pay for it anymore.

I certainly don't censor myself but many times I will choose not to play.

I think as humans,we sometimes we do ourselves a disservice by the course way we approach disagreement.

This isn't exclusive to this forum but so many are so busy yelling that no one is listening.

Dave, it's your ball,  you foot the bill.  I voted "No" but I am just one voice of many.

Either way,  I'll respect you and your decision.

I don't know what this costs you in the "monetary" sense, but I've suspected this represents a non-trivial "cost" in all of the other ways that really matter, and I feel fortunate to be able to visit your forum!

I suspect that most/all of us here would miss the forum if you elected to shut it down. As participants, I know most of us here unknowingly benefit from its existence without truly grasping the nature of the relationship we all have to each other. I don't want to sound like a scold, but I find the tenor of our interactions here recently to be....ahem...."challenging." I acknowledge that the political climate here in the US is certainly fraught lately(i.e. post-election), but I'm disappointed to witness the manner in which many of us engage with others who we believe "aren't on our side!" It's one thing to disagree with one's position, but man....it's OK to criticize one's position, but not one's person! No punching below the belt, OK?

The culture wars aren't helping anyone's cause....as far as I'm concerned, anyone who's smart enough to do the sort of work we do as machinists/engineers is ALSO smart enough to understand when they're being manipulated....stop taking the bait!

I acknowledge that many of you guys have years of history together (which I don't...), but would it be so hard to be a little kinder to each other?

Aren't we all Americans first and foremost, and everything else.... Second, third, fourth....? We're destroying ourselves from within at our masters bidding....WTF?

I've been staying out of the back and forth over Trump, Musk and DOGE for the last week or so.
There's just no point in it. No one's mind will be changed and it finally just got
boring.

When it's all said and done, it's neuros's field, his bat, ball and glove. If he wants to
take the ball and go home, the game is over.

and as I've said before I'd be happy to contribute funds to help defray the cost of running
this shit show.

I haven't been back to the forum that shall not be named because they couldn't handle their liberal tears. But if you want me gone, this would be a good way.
 I'm a bit confused since you admit to starting counter arguments to get the post count up.
