Does anybody know of any newer military thriller books in the vein of the Tom Clancy or Dale Brown novels?

Looking for new reading material to pass the time with. I may try westerns too if there are really good books.

TIA for ideas!

There's a western called Man from Nowhere that I like. I used to be a big Louis L'amour fan but, not so much anymore.

Ignoring the recent movies and tv shows, Lee Child's Reacher books are pretty good.

They are OK but get old pretty quick

Reacher rolls into town
Reacher meets pretty girl and discovers evil doers doing bad things to good people
Reacher fucks them up
Reacher gets on the bus and rolls out of town

wash rinse repeat

I've been listening to the "Tier One" novels By: Brian Andrews, Jeffrey Wilson.  They've been pretty good at keeping my attention.  I'm on the 6th in the series of 8 (So Far).  It's worth a read to see if you like it.

Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series is good, but you may have already read those because they have been around for a while.
Kyle Mills picked up the series after Vince passed away and he did an admirable job of continuing it.

Gray man books are pretty good too.

Jack Carr's Terminal List series is pretty good. There are 6 or 7 books in the series.

Amazon Prime made a series out of the first book and I've read there is a second installment on the way.

Carr is retired Special Forces

The Master and Commander Series by Patrick Obrian is excellent.
It's a twenty book series
The movie Master and Commander starring Russel Crowe is loosely based on the first book in the series.

I don't think there's anyone doing the high level techno-thriller thing like Clancy. Definitely not close to his level.

Lots of great, I don't know what to call them, bad ass assassin type authors. Several have been mentioned above.

Brad Thor has a 20+ book series that I like.

The Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills/Don Bentley is great.

I also enjoyed Kyle Mills' non-Mitch Rapp books. Especially the Mark Beamon series.

My current favorite is the Jack Carr Terminal List series.

My only problem with all of those is that the more popular they become, the slower they write. I follow Jack Carr on social media. He seems like a genuinely good dude and I am happy for all his success, but I would prefer to see more posts about him writing and less about him jetting around the country meeting cool people and doing cool shit. I mean, it's cool you get invited to Tulsi's swearing in ceremony, but write the next damn book, man...

CJ Box her Joe Picket series.

William Kent Krueger the Cork Oconner series. Not a western but I found it a good read.

More along the military lines I used to enjoy the Clive Cussler "Dirk Pitt" series. I haven't read one is a looong time but they were a quick read.

I also have a Kindle Unlimited subscription. I can usually find something on there to read when the big time authors don't have anything new coming out.

One guy I read a lot of on there is LT Ryan.

Dude has like 9 different series going and releases new books constantly. I have no clue how he does it.

I decided to go with the Jack Carr Terminal list books.

I just downloaded the first book. It has a pretty intense beginning. :)

I kind of felt towards those books like gcode feels about the Reacher novels.
