The Daily Mail, doing the work American media won't do

QuoteA top 'DEI' activist is caught on voicemail allegedly offering minority air traffic controller candidates the chance to cheat in a make-or-break entry exam.

Shelton Snow, a powerful figure in the National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE), can be heard promising advance access to test answers in a shocking audio clip obtained by DailyMail.com.

'There are some valuable pieces of information that I have taken a screenshot of and I am going to send that to you via email,' says Snow, an air traffic operations supervisor based out of New York.

Yea. Saw this and was disheartened immediately. I was passed over last year for an IFR controller position. Was a long process, ~ 8months, and to be cut after the final interview still stings, thought I made it for sure. Plus this? What a load of crap, cause I WANTED to do the job to it's fullest, with respect for the system in place and the responsibility of people's safety. Screw these guys.

Sadly, you were probably cut for a less qualified candidate

I don't understand why organizations like  National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE)
even exist.
A truly diverse inclusive society needs to be colorblind.
An organization like NBCFAE just further divides us.

and

Training for air traffic control jobs need to be tough rigorous and thorough.
A pilot is responsible for one aircraft, an air traffic controller is responsible for
dozens of aircraft.
A simple oversight can kill a thousand people in the blink of an eye.

The safety record of our airlines is so good people take it for granted.
It's good because of decades of hard work, rigorous standards and an unforgiving training regime.
It is not the place for racial justice and DEI.

Did you see where Trump has ordered the giant BLM logo remove from a street in DC?
The left is losing it's mind over that one

I talked it over with the wife at great length and we both agree that this is probably the case. Will never know, maybe I bombed on a group exercise, hard to say. And not much to be done about it, unfortunately. I'll try again in 3 years, that's the mandated cooling off period between applications, and I can fast track to the interview process having passed all the competency testing. I did email my coordinator after I was cut to ask what I could improve upon for my next application, since I made it so far. Got a boiler plate response of "check out our website FAQ for what we look for in a candidate!", that is what ticked me off the most, I wasn't just some Joe off the street after that long in the process. But when you're out, you're out!

I've heard about the issues with police and fire dept, and how hard it is to get in as a handsome, tall, intelligent white male. Dunno why I thought this would be different, maybe because it should be purely skills based? I'm almost over it, until it comes back... I have to drive by the tower here on my way to work, it was rather difficult for the first few weeks.

I'll conclude the wallowing now, lol.

I would politely send that e-mail "What can I do to improve?" every damn day for 3 years or until I got a response.

Or what can I do besides change my race, gender or ethnicity... just sayin.

When you cease to be a meritocracy, factors that NOBODY has any control over, factors that have ZERO bearing on the ability or qualifications to do the job become the Modus Operandi.

It's 2025, man.

You don't have to cut it off. You don't even have to cut off your beard.

Just put on a dress and heels and declare yourself a woman. :coffee:

↑↑↑↑  This is so true unfortunately ↑↑↑↑

A friend's son had graduated from his law enforcement training just before the George Floyd ordeal in the twin cities here. He applied for a position when all of the officers that left due to PTSD. He was turned down.
He then had an offer to go out west to Montana and they took him virtually over the phone. Sight unseen one could say. He moved out there and started his new job and six months into it Minneapolis called him back asking if he'd like to follow through with  his application....?

So he stated where he was in life and that he politely declined the offer. He then asked about why he was now being called back after he had done several interviews. He had basically been interviewed up to the final point of being offered a job there. They told him that none of their first round applicants besides  him had passed the background checks.

He simply wished them well =)
