Why Wegman's?
For those who are unfamiliar, Wegman's is a grocery chain in the northeast.
They have a VERY good reputation for being generally community-minded, so I'm just wondering out loud why this particular mob picked that particular store.

OK, Daniel Prude died in police custody after being arrested for his bizarre behavior, running around naked in public, and according to the medical examiner, probably high on PCP.  If he wasn't a danger to himself and others at that point, I don't know who would be.  The officers used a spit hood to protect themselves and others since part of Daniel's bizarre behavior included spitting on people and telling them he had COVID.  Long story short, he later died.  The police officers were investigated and found to have followed procedure, but unfortunately it still ended badly for Daniel.

However, when something tragic like this happens, that does NOT GIVE PEOPLE THE RIGHT to arbitrarily and forcibly close down a business like Wegman's that had nothing whatsoever to do with the case.  They DO have the right to legitimately protest, but just because they didn't like the decision that was made concerning the police officers, they had NO RIGHT to attack Wegman's and the customers inside who were only buying groceries.

Wegman's would be a very 'soft' target in that respect.

I would be willing to bet about 20 to 30% of the guys (and a few gals) walking around our local Home Depot right now are armed.

My daughter-in-law never leaves the house without her Glock 23 (.45 caliber) in her purse, as well as a small can of pepper spray on her keychain.

Just last week some dude in Wal-mart was eyeing her pretty hard, and he just gave her a bad vibe.
She mentioned it to one of the store employees, then she pointed the guy out.

The employee told her this guy was a regular there, and that he had been pinched a few times for shoplifting and petty theft of purses, wallets, and such.
(Why they even let him back in the store is beyond me, but that's a different story.)
Anyway she told the employee that if creepy dude comes near hear and tries anything, it's not going to end well for him.
The employee just stared at her and said "OoooooooKayyyyyyy", at which point my daughter-in-law just turned and walked away and continued shopping.

It's almost always soft targets. Pittifully soft in several cases. Oddly enough they NEVER try that shit at a gun range, where they'd be lucky to get off two rounds before being dispatched.
