So meeting with a Trump official makes you a Republican?

These guys are investors who know that it's probably going to take someone like Trump to allow this to happen. I think that part of their goal (or at least one of their desired options) is to have it pushed through via executive order. My opinion on it is very close to YoDougs. I don't think these guys care who's in office as long as they get what they need from them.

I'm not necessarrily for these freedom cities, then again, coming from a highly, Highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY regulated place like The People's Republik of Kommieforniastan, I can see the benefits of cutting a lot of that shit out. And yes, I specifically chose that word for a reason. Case in point, Los Angeles fire rebuilding.... guess how many building permits have been issued thus far? TWO! Two out o the hundreds submitted. To boot, the Mayor of Los angeles just spend $10M on "Consultants" that will supposedly help them "streamline government". HOw about taking that $10m and using it to offer severance packages to thousands of shitbird bureaucrats in Los Angeles government?

So... should Freedom Cities be allowed to do that they want? No. Should they try to improve the current government models? Hell yes!

Should they be allowed to ignore State regulations or be imposed on States that want nothing to do with them?

That's where I'm a little fuzzy on the idea. Do they really mean NO regulation.

Do you think they already have a state lined up?

Texas, Mississippi, Alabama?

There are a couple of these organizations.

From the article (this is only one of the foundations)

"The Frontier Foundation suggests that federally owned land outside western cities like Boise, Idaho; Grand Junction, Colorado; and Redmond, Oregon would be suitable candidates. "If we're able to get a legislative transfer of land from the US government to make a public-private partnership, or a trust, or even a private corporation, then it's a lower cost of capital," he explains."

A lower cost of capital indeed!

I'd say it's a greedy capitalist thing which would likely fit in a red state. And Trump is probably the best chance they'll ever have of getting it done.

I know where you're coming from though.

Now you're starting to sound like Incog.

I'm not saying it's *not* Republicans doing this. Some of the investors could very well be Republicans. I do know that one of them donates to what ever political party benefits him at the time.

I'm saying that nowhere in the article is it pitting one side against the other, which is what I feel like your takeaway was. So if I say I think it's a bad idea, I feel like you're saying that I think it's a bad idea because it's a Republican idea when in reality, I just don't trust investors who's only interest is lining their own pocket.
