I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Hardware wise we're pretty close.  The rest is software.

Wow. The future. Perhaps future armies will consist of mostly battle robots with few human personnel. Highly skilled commandos assisting in battle with an army of robots. Same concept for air defense. A squadron of drones with a few Top Gun type pilots. Exciting to think about, being able engage in warfare with a minimum of human casualties.

That's the goal.  Then you don't have to convince a human being to follow your orders; you orders will be carried out no matter how inhumane they are.

That will be the beginning of the end for humans. When war has no pain for the aggressor there will be no reason to end it until there is only one country left. If there are two aggressors there is no reason to end until there are few humans left and the robots will end up ruling the world.

There will be a human, or a small group of humans, running the robots and telling them to kill everyone else.

QuoteThe U.S. Army, after years of experimentation, is planning to roll out an entire family of uncrewed combat vehicles to boost the firepower of infantry and armored brigade combat teams.

The RAAF here have just rolled out the "Loyal Wingman" drone to accompany F18 and F35 jets.

I think that this guy might be the example of why robots are going to be our future.
