The glass isn't half empty or half full, it's just twice the size it needs to be.

Bought the dip!  Look at Nike - stocks dropped (tarriffs on Viet and Cambodia) heavy tarrifs.  Made a deal with America, back in it.

I keep wondering if the China tariffs will have the unintended *positive* consequence of Chinese fake goods disappearing from Amazon.

That's some out of the box thinking. Seems a reasonable prediction

What the hell are Chinese fake goods? American stuff with a Made in China label? :headscratch:

this is one example:
QuoteIn the music industry, C.F. Martin & Co. has faced challenges in entering the Chinese market due to a Chinese company registering the right to use the "Martin" name, leading to disputes and a focus on protecting the brand's intellectual property. While there hasn't been a specific lawsuit against a Chinese company named "Bluegrass", the issue highlights the difficulties of trademark protection in China, particularly for brands like Martin, which have significant market value

Chinese made (it's not just China) counterfeit products that are sold as popular name brands. Memory, hard drives, etc.

If you ever by something like a Samsung nvme drive from Amazon, always check it to make sure it's "Genuine" using Samsungs software.

I like to buy cheap Chinese mini-pc's to screw around with.  You can get those things (maybe used to) for around $200 and for what they are, they're pretty capable little pc's. Some of them are super energy efficient.

If I find one I like, I'll shop around for good replacement drives, but you have to be careful because you can end up with a drive that is no better than what came with the mini-pc.

I build all of my own computers, so investigating for counterfeit hardware is just part of the game these days.  Especially if you're trying to be cheap.

All of the automated off-site backups and maintenance for this forum is done on a cheap-ass, Chinese made, mini-pc.

My entire media center is run from a mini-pc.

I SO hope....

I've had to return a few things because they were counterfeit. Such bullshit.

It seems 1/4 of the shit you can order off Chinazon is ripped off stuff.  Hope you're right Neuro, this could be the difference, politics aside.
I've known original creators that have had stuff ripped off end up there
