Quote from: Jeff on April 18, 2025, 08:18 AMBroke no laws?
He's an illegal immigrant. Undeniable.  Law broken upon entry, which makes him a criminal.
Has ties to MS-13, if not already a member. Undeniable.
MS-13 is a foreign terrorist organization. Undeniable.

I worded that incorrectly. It should have said "broke no laws while in the US". Other than traffic violations.

If you know a criminal, that doesn't make you a criminal. I'm not sure what "has ties to" means? He was standing outside of a Home Depot next to gang members? The ties to MS13 is one of the things being disputed and that's the whole point of due process.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Do the Bloods wear red?
Do the Crypts wear blue?

Well MS-13 wears Chicago Bulls stuff.

He was arrested with two other members of MS-13.
When arrested, he was wearing a sweatshirt with roles of money covering the ears, mouth, and eyes of presidents on various currency denominations. This is a known MS-13 gang symbol of see no evil, hear no evil, say no evil.
Two judges found that he was a member of MS-13. That finding has not been disturbed.
Intelligence reports found that he was involved in human trafficking.
He claimed fear of being returned to El Salvador because he would be persecuted by MS-13's rival gang, Barrio-18.
Jennifer Vasquez, Garcia's wife, petitioned for an order of protection against him. She claimed he punched her, scratched her, and ripped off her shirt, and bruised her.

So do I.  lol. Does that make me a blood or a crip?

And yet he was given protected legal status anyway?  :headscratch:

Quote from: Jeff on April 18, 2025, 08:44 AMIntelligence reports found that he was involved in human trafficking.

Where is the proof? It's been asked for and not provided.

Quote from: Jeff on April 18, 2025, 08:44 AMHe claimed fear of being returned to El Salvador because he would be persecuted by MS-13's rival gang, Barrio-18.

The gang in El Salvador was trying to recruit him and his brother. They were extorting money from his family in an attempt to force him and his brother to join. That's what I understand anyway.

There is a lot to unpack in this story. *IF* he's a gang member and a sex trafficker, then he deserves what he gets, but if this is true, why wasn't he prosecuted for those crimes in the US? Sex trafficking is illegal in the US?

Yes, I really, really get a warm and fuzzy feeling when our glorious leader starts talking about sending "Homegrown criminals" to overseas prisons. Presumably sans due process.

So, let me get this straight, guy enters country illegally... without folloing due process, and you want him to be given due process before he's sent wherever?

Am I reading that correctly?

What does the law say?

The man was here for how long and given protected status.  Married to a citizen and has a child born in the US.
