I envision scrolling through endless Satan Spaces

Run the machines in metric.

You'll thank me later.

When you're trying to hold .0001-.0002" while running in inch mode, you're fighting math. Nobody wins when they fight math. Running in metric OTOH, I can split that .0001" 3 ways. I'm actually giving the  control some room to work with on the thermal comp. Running in inch gives the control no room to work.

So we are finely pulling the pin on this, it is not the black one, but it will only be 20,000 with a 30 changer (waiting  till fall is too long) any must haves to add on?

Solid Choice would prefer a HSK100 over the HSK63, but take what you can get.

This would be a very solid choice. Yes only 10K spindle, but 50hp spindle and Optional HSK100 for hard milling you would get a nice torque curve.

Good advise, James.

Quote from: mike93 post_id=3326 time=1610592175 user_id=61The cutting is easy, its the thermo drift that's the problem. Lately we  have been shooting for the .0001  .0002 It dose not sound to bad, but then you start trying to run 50 parts threw with 4 tight features, it starts to be a lot of chasing.

Not too many OEMs get over their skis promising accuracy over time, but this brand does.

+/-4micron over 24 hour run. It's made from 'CMM material' (polymer concrete) so that's and advantage right out of the gate.

Basically agree with CNC Apps and what matthew said on hardmilling on Haas. It's the approach more than machine.

lol late to the party; didn't see decision was made.
