I believe that coming from you.

There are a few (at least a couple) who think that being an atheist (and some other unpopular groups of people) makes you some kind of ghoul.

I think a couple of these guys must have gone to the Westboro Baptist Church

Nah! Being atheist just blocks God from revealing Himself to you.

I grew up in a Christian family and was religious until I was a teen.

I've brought this up before, I had a friend, more of an acquaintance, who was raised in a Christian family. He went to college to master in theology. He ended up studying multiple religions and when he was done, left the church.

Was god waiting to reveal himself to me, or this other guy?

All I saw was how awful people could be to each other until I was in my early teens. People who called themselves Christians.

No.

Try Spiritual Guidance , Community outreach and spreading the Gospel.

Not Crime reporting , Law enforcement nor Governmental monitor.

Being an atheist, that's all you will see. Not trying to be mean.

I wasn't always an atheist. I became an atheist because of what I saw.

Would that work for literally anything else? We're a coffee stand, not a crime reporter, law enforcement, or governmental monitor.

We're a machine shop.....

We're a school......

We're a Mosk.,,,,

We're the US Government...    Oh wait.  I screwed that one up.

Yes, it is.

It has a built-in moral dilemma? Right?

If Washington State is attacking the church out of spite, I will be on your side. That's why I think it's important that we find out what the penalty is for not reporting the crime.

I say that I'll be on your side, but I mean regarding the DOJ going after Washington State. Not whether or not I think the Church should be protecting child abuse and molestation.

I would be happy if the Church changed its own laws to NOT protect murderers and child molesters. If they did that, we wouldn't have to worry about it?

So I guess if you had seen Christians acting like you thought they should have, you would be a Believer?

It's not "acting like I thought they should have".  I don't know how Christians or anyone else "should" act. It's not acting like the scum of society.

As far as being a believer, I don't know how I would know that.

Don't think that I believe that religion is bad or that everyone who is religious is as fucked up as what I've seen. I know that people hide behind religion to do horrible things. The part that I have a difficult time reconciling, is how would any god allow that to happen?

This is one area that I agree with Jordon Peterson (there aren't many) Most people who lose religion, lose it because it failed them in some way.  That's a paraphrase.
