where I live, there is no planning and zoning except if it's within city limits. my guess is that area is similar.

The zoning thing where I live is a thing. Every 10-20 years, winter can get especially harsh in northern UT. Double the amount of snow, that kind of thing. Then a crazy weather swing happens in the spring, you get a few 50-60 degree days in a row, maybe some rain on top of a shitload of snow. I see houses being built in places that I have seen under few feet of water in the recent past. I don't care how many diversion canals they build, low lying areas will flood in this area. yet the county/city dipshits see the potential revenue and zone the areas as being suitable for commercial and or residential.

This tragedy in TX... has multiple, known, historic floods along this river that have killed people in the past. Yet people rebuild.

California ,Oregon , Washington are all in an Earthquake Zone.

Louisiana , Alabama , Georgia ,Florida and the entire East Coast is in a Hurricane Zone.

Oklahoma , Kansas and the entire Midwest are Tornadic.

Why Rebuild anywhere??

Wildfires ,Floods , Quakes , Tsunamis.??
