Yep we rode till the light came on the front Porch.

Spent endless summers at The Pits (Plano , Illinois 1966) chasing Turtles 5 miles from the house.

I was 6 my bro was 8.

Only time we came home was to eat or sleep.

Summer of course. Only time I visited my Mom Summers.

We feel lucky to have had the childhood we did.....bikes, baseball, frisbees, skating, snowball/dirt clod fights, smushing fireflies on the sidewalk after dark, mosquitoes, "polish cannons", BB guns, black powder guns, the 22, on and on...it was just normal at the time. We did have a couple fat kids at school but it was kinda unusual.
