How AI is going to take CAM programming jobs.

ChatGPT just released an Agent that can control a PC and can access and control certain apps and programs. Eventually (in a couple years) there will be agents that can be given access to your CAM progrm, help files, videos, tool libraries, existing programs, etc. and it will be able to run all night long programming parts in your CAM using your previous work as examples. As much as I like how AI is helping me now, I see where this is going and I don't like it one bit.

Not ready for prime time.

Will be, not now though

Still too many variables.

That is why I said a couple of years. Most businesses will still need technical employees to interact with the AI. It will severely reduce the number of programmers needed.

Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

Safety! is no Accident!

Here's Johnny!

It is scary how fast it can progress in terms of development. Just wondering how existing software will be protected from copying the coding.

I suspect a lot of people will feel similar. AI will be awesome for them performing work they don't know how to do, or do quickly, and then when it comes for their job it's upsetting. AI WILL eventually do away with the need to program CAM, but it will miss the nuance and we'll trade machine time, tool life, etc. etc. etc. for programming time. Only the really good programmers will be needed. Like software development
