Looking at quoting some parts made from "H850 ICYTOUGH"
I am guessing this stuff doesn't machine like 6061 aluminum.
Anyone out there ran across this stuff & any thoughts on the machineability?

Never heard of it but whoever named that material sure has a sense of humor!

The irony would be amazing if it actually cut easy!

Never heard of it.

H850 (S35000) stainless steel, also known as Icytough, is a hardened stainless steel with good machinability in its annealed state, but it becomes extremely difficult to machine when hardened. Carbide or ceramic tooling is recommended for machining this material in the annealed condition.
Machinability Details:
Annealed State: In the annealed (soft) state, H850 can be machined relatively easily.
Hardened State: Machining H850 when hardened is extremely difficult and not recommended, according to Penta Precision.
