Back channels are a thing and have been going on since the days of George Washington and Ben Franklin. If you are going to excoriate Trump for listening to a Russian (which it is my understanding that he reported the interaction with the appropriate government agency) regarding some intelligence, then you are going to have to excotoate every single POTUS in history for listening to intelligence from a foreign power or adversary.

If WE have intelligence about something that is about to go on in Russia that could destabilize the world, there isn't a POTUS in ANY of our lifetimes that would not share that intelligence. 

All of our governments have cooperation deals. Take for example submarines. ALL the nation's governments that have military submarines cooperate with each other. If one of our subs has a MADAY situation near Russian or Chinese waters, they have permission to rescue our people. There's an entire framework in place all over the globe. There are similar agreements in place for a wide variety of things. 

Think otherwise is to be stricken with such a severe case of #TDS there is no hope or cure.
