The only people that are going to believe this guy are the same who still believe that the billions of dollars a month in tariff revenue is being paid by other Countries.

Why job numbers change

Trump picks Heritage economist Antoni to lead US labor statistics agency

"The nomination of Antoni, who contributed to 'Project 2025,' the controversial conservative plan to overhaul the government, was met with reservations from economists".

Trump 2024: "I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it"

Trump 2025:

Appoints or nominates these project 2025 contributors -
  • Brendan Carr — nominated to lead the FCC
  • Pete Hoekstra — ambassador to Canada
  • John Ratcliffe — director of the CIA
  • Tom Homan — "border czar"
  • Russell Vought — Director of the Office of Management and Budget
  • Peter Navarro — Senior Counselor for Trade and Manufacturing
  • Paul S. Atkins — nominated to head the SEC
  • Karoline Leavitt — White House Press Secretary
  • Michael Anton — appointed Director of Policy Planning
  • Steven G. Bradbury — nominated for Deputy Secretary of Transportation
  • Troy Edgar — nominated for Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security

A couple of things jumped out at me about this, even before the caffeine kicked in-LOL: first, the use of the word "medium."

Second, note the portion of the graph that DJT points to: it seems to be approximately at the 40 month mark, in other words, about 32 months in the future. It will be interesting to be able to compare estimates to actuals at that time....hope springs eternal!

OK, speling misteaks hapen. But not, usually, in charts prepared for a presentation by the President of the United States.   <---- that was pretty good.

Purely anecdotal, however for most of the tariffs we have encountered at my job, we have negotiated with the vendor and split it up somehow. we are paying some of it, which gets passed to our customers. The vendor is paying some of it. This is similar to most other stories of tariffs that I have heard.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I do find it funny that the same libs that are out there opposing Trumps tariffs saying it just ends up going to customers/users are the same ones that defend raising corp taxes.

I've said this before, but I've noticed that, without having to negotiate, companies that we purchase tools from are also eating *some* of the tariff costs.

My bigger point was, that it's NOT other Countries paying for the tariffs. Small businesses are feeling it first. Then consumers. Large corporations aren't going to give a crap.

They should have never been lowered in the first place? Did all of that tax savings get passed on to the employees?

is that the only justification for a tax break? what if the company uses the tax break to buy new cnc equipment and hire new people?

I worked for a tool shop one time that was owned by a fortune500. They had profit sharing in the form of stock options. If a company only uses the tax break to buy back it's own stock and the stock price goes up. so does the employee's portfolio.  So there are all kinds of different ways that taxes or reduction of taxes can benefit the common man. But in the same vein, these tariffs could be hurting workers in ways that are not being covered, such as a lack of new equipment being purchased, etc.

Del.

We make the money from Countries buying MORE of our products than they were. The Tariffs force them to negotiate trade deals better for us.

More than you think. "American made" doesn't mean that everything came from America. That might be the goal, but you're going to pay dearly for it.
