Here is a list of major US and multinational companies that have announced or implemented price increases due to tariffs as of 2025:
  • Walmart
  • Nike
  • Adidas
  • Macy's
  • Conagra Brands
  • Volkswagen
  • Best Buy
  • Target
  • Stanley Black & Decker
  • Columbia Sportswear
  • AutoZone
  • Procter & Gamble
  • Home Depot
  • Ferrrari
  • Shein
  • Abercrombie & Fitch
  • American Eagle
  • Newell Brands (Graco, Rubbermaid, Yankee Candle, Paper Mate, Sharpie)
  • Amazon
  • Ford
  • Nintendo
  • Uppababy
  • Costco

These companies represent a mix of retailers, manufacturers, food producers, and auto industry brands that are publicly stating their intent to raise prices on select goods or across broader product lines in response to recent tariffs. The exact timing, scope, and size of price increases vary depending on each company's global supply chain and tariff exposure.
Duh, taxes don't make shit cheaper .
But at least we have lowest income tax on your slave-ass labor, in recent history.

If the import/export oligarchy bent on knocking down USA exceptionalism by shipping all jobs offshore, the can pay a hefty tax to access the biggest economy in the world 🌍

And US citizens can pay the price!  WINNING!

I don't know who thinks that manufacturing actually stands a chance of returning to the USA in any meaningful way? Or how many of those jobs won't be robot operated or pay decent wages? But fuck it. We're willing to soak US consumers finding out.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Which part? The questions about mfg?   :headscratch: Or that US consumers (and small businesses) are going to be hurt the most by and pay for this tariff experiment?

There is a will at the top levels for it. The biggest problem right this minute is overcoming TWO maybe three SOLID generations of "manual labor is dirty, college is THE way" attitudes. We not only have to convince parents that little Freddy isn't going to be a doctor, lawyer, or coder, he's gotta WORK for a living, and THAT is the toughest sell. Mommy's little bundle is a SOOOOOOOOOOOPER GENIE-US. Just ask her.

Until we can at the very least, keep up with attrition, you're right and the naysayers are right. The difference between you and them, I think you want it to come back, they however, do not. They want to be correct in their ASSessment.

If we are going to even be able to keep up, 100% that will mean automation.

Automation opens up other employment opportunities because that stuff doesn't fix itself.

We are having a TOUGH time finding experienced Service Techs in the Northwest. At any price. When Jack in the Box is paying $18/hr to start... We have to spend YEARS training someone just to see if they are any good. NOBODY can afford to pay someone a "living wage" while they are in training.

And face it, A LOT of young people just do not want to work. They want their easy, 6 figure, 9-5, clean, work inside job, and their "work life balance" myth. Or... they want UBI and to become bums. Maybe that is a gross oversimplification, but that's just want I see.

I think that the honest critics are trying to be realistic about it. Sure, there will always be the 'I don't want this to work just for the sake of it not working' crowd.

Can you force manufacturing back to the US without making products unaffordable unless you drastically raise wages?

There are FEW of those. The "honest" critic says, "Hey government, DO YOUR FUCKING JOB! Stop with the oppressive regulatory environment. Yeah, Kommieforniastan, I'm talking to you shit birds!"

FAR too people are calling "government" on the carpet for their abusive regulatory fuckery. Until THAT becomes a deafening scream from voters, shitbirds will do shitbird stuff.

That which you describe... raising wages raises costs. Raising costs, means raising wages again... ad infinitum. Until costs get under control it's an impossible task.

I have a relatively easy solution for lowering costs; government needs to fuck off and get out of the abusive regulatory business. Let's start THERE and see what happens. We've tried everything else BUT that.

That could be its own conversation.

I've always been curious to hear what regulation the "get rid of regulation" crowd thinks we should "get rid of".  I get the California example after listening to a few people tear Newsome a new ass-hole.
