I've never been a fan of Paul Krugman.

It's possible to dislike someone for whatever reason you choose, while also finding their analysis useful....

I haven't read Krugman in years. The reason is because he was influenced more by politics than economics.
Maybe he has changed.

Yeah, I can do without the editorializing, but I thought the insights were generally useful:

" John Maynard Keynes said something similar in Chapter 12 of his General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money. Market investors, he argued, pay little attention to the question of what assets are truly worth. Instead, they worry mostly about the market value of those assets a few months in the future."

Ditto for his mention of the subprime crisis in the 2000's.

I remember debating Krugman's ramblings on the other off topic back in the day during the aftermath of the financial crisis.
I just remember everything he said just seemed to come out of opposite world. And the inflationary spending as a method of getting this out of a jam just seemed nuts. And the national debt went nuts also.
That is up until Trump and Biden had there. Hold my beer moment and really accelerated the national debt.
Interesting difference with the Wuhan virus crisis that the people got assistance, not just the banksters like in the Obama era.

QuoteFor instance, the idea that tariffs eventually raise domestic prices can be eroded by a capricious president delaying their implementation or granting exemptions.

Same as me and the BrexShit stuff - lots voted to bring it all to a collapse.
Unfortunately, it's bit everyone who deals with the EU very badly. They've persecuted us.
While the people who were championing it at the time (BoJo and his cronies) made millions and millions on betting £ v € rates. Allegedly....

You're the only person on this forum that I've seen acknowledge that.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Can you explain in detail why you think this is going to be better?
