Best wishes, get well soon!

DUM1

just did a stint in the hospital recently, heart attack and another stint. The hospital stay sucked! but there were a few HAWT nurses ... best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Del.

Hopefully they can remove a section where the clot is G. My wife has had 7 surgeries on her small and large intestines. 5 last year.

I developed a blood clot inside my left ventricle in February. So they put me on 3 months of daily Tinzaparin injections (my wife stepped up and did these for me!) along with an anti-coagulation pill. I then had some genetic testing done and they discovered that I have a Prothombrin gene mutation that make me more susceptible to getting blood clots (I had one in each of my lower legs over the last 2.5 decades in the veins). After the 3 month of injections they put me on daily blood thinner medication. I will now stay on the blood thinner and anti-coagulation pills for the rest of my life (I am 58 years old now).

Sounds like the same thing I have.  Except I had a Pulmonary Embolism that was the indicator.  This happened around 25 years ago.  Been on the Rat Poison (Warfarin) ever since.  And will be for the rest of my life. (66 years OLD now)

I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome.

I'm home.
3 days of intravenous blood thinners, and antibiotics
and blood tests every 4 to six hours.
I feel like granny's pin cushion.
The problem was a blood clot on a major vein coming out of the small intestines.
Left undiagnosed for too long it is almost always fatal.
Fortunately, it hut bad enough that even a stubborn old fool like me gave up and went to the ER.
Fentanyl and morphine didn't even take the edge off the pain.
They gave me 2 doses of some drug that starts with a D and that knocked the pain down.
They have no idea what caused it and I'll be on blood thinners and have a sword hanging over my head
for the rest of my like.
It suxs coming face to face with your own mortality.
On the bright side, 2 different nurses said I was the healthiest 70 year old they'd ever had in their ward.

Probably Dilaudid (hydromorphone)
It's 8 times more potent than morphine but fairly short acting. I was getting it every 2 hours.

Well, healthy except for that one minor thing that nearly made you dead.

Glad you're home and still kickin.
