Nor do I.

I haven't worn a "political" piece of attire in decades. I think I had a Bush 94... Pro-Constitution yes, remember 9/11 yes, University of Southern California... HELL YES!. Campaign, political party, "people"... never. I don't need or want the attention. I just want to go about my business.

Quote from: Smit on September 12, 2025, 02:14 PMHow many people have been accosted/attacked for wearing a hat or shirt in a public location by a stranger?

How about for flying a flag at half mast?

My wife had two young men who worked for her beat into the hospital for flying Trump flags from the back of their pickup truck.

I lived in a condo complex during GWB's last run for President. We had carport style parking and many of my neighbors
had their cars keyed and windows smashed for GWB stickers.

Personally, I have not had anything like that happen to me. Sporting red bumper stickers and flags in Californistan
is asking for trouble. Trouble is easy enough to find without hunting it down and poking it in the eye.

I have a neighbor who put put up an "I support Israel" yard sign on 10/08/23 and it remains untouched to this day.

I fly a US flag and a USMC Eagle Globe and Anchor on appropriate national holidays and have not had any trouble.

My current neighborhood is about 85% Hispanic. I suspect the majority are not US born.

It's a very non political neighborhood, and much better than when I moved here.

In 2005, I had a ladder stolen out of my garage the first day I was here.. Recently my neighbor put a very nice ladder
against the wall of his garage. It has been there over a month, untouched.
I've seen that with my own eyes and still have trouble believing it.

Up here, you'd be more likely to get beat up or harassed for NOT wearing a MAGA had.

Even up around Notre Dame, there's not that many crazy, purpled haired, liberal Karens running loose. It's fairly conservative for a college campus in 2025.

There is a small town near here called Goshen, home to Goshen College. It's a Mennonite liberal arts college. There you will find plenty of the afore mentioned Karens, LGBTQRST activists, and all manner of Libs that would make even Berkley proud. It's a weird place. We have a HUGE Mennonite population in the area, but I don't personally know a single Mennonite who'd let their kid go there.

But being Mennonites, they do take their pacifism pretty serious, so not much in the way of violence. There was a fair amount of vandalism after the 2016 and 2024 elections to vehicles sporting pro-Trump stuff. Nothing ever really came of it. I imagine some kids got a stern talkin to and that ended it.

A few years back I visited Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for the day. There were Trump flags on every porch, and Maga hats in every bar. Yea, that's a *bit* of an exaggeration, but not much.

The only Biden paraphernalia I saw was in the form of "Lets go Brandon".

I don't think I would have felt comfortable wearing a Biden hat in to a bar there, but it could just be paranoia.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

It's paranoia. The lefty media has been gaslighting the public for a decade.
At best you would have been ridiculed and then they would have probably bought you a beer for being a good sport.

Sure, I mean, who doesn't want to be ridiculed in public.

BTW, that is what I would expect. I'm not sure if you thought that I assumed that there would be a public lynching? Although, it is Northern Idaho, so you never know.  :D

I meant that they would have made fun of you most likely. I can't say for sure because I'm not from that area.
You never know.

Now what would happen if I were to do that in Portland (or any other ultra liberal town) with Trump clothes and a Trump hat? I guarantee you the results would not be the same.

Those are the same people that drive around with that stupid "coexist" bumper sticker. Ironic huh.

Given the nose rings, studs, piercings, purple hair and other absurd mannerisms leftist are sporting these days
I've always wondered if public ridicule is the goal???

It's called Aposematism.

It is the advertising by an animal that they are toxic. Most often through the use of striking colors and/or patterns.

Think poison dart frogs, skunks, purple haired Karens...

We have a large Mennonite and Amish population just north of here. When I was relaxing at the "spa", surrounded by other drunks and addicts, the Mennonites would bring their choir and sing for us.
It was a capella and it was beautiful.
