Has any of you TS users played with the interlink rules yet?

I spent about an hour on a goto with Bill last week and this has become a new favorite of mine.

Yes, I have created many. In our Multus machines we have them set up so the upper spindle always retracts like we want. Different rules for different tool types (ID turning vs OD turning, B angle, etc.). In our 5X we have multiple set up with the default being the fastest retract and then others that are set up for over size pieces to move in single axis at a time for clearance. Once your post is dialed in, what you see in TS simulation is what you get in the machine. IMO one of the reasons TopSolid is the most powerful CAM I have ever used.

The link movements in TS are pretty amazing compared to MC. They also have something called 'virtual jog' which is a what you see is what you get similar to point to point.  This stuff can all be fully machine simulated.  You don't realize how far behind MC is on some of this stuff until you've played with other software.

Now if only TS would make it easier on the end user to make simple post edits and offer free simple 4 axis posts to their customers like MC they would probably build a stronger user base in the US.

I'm going to have to buy CAM for my side business fairly soon.  TopSolid is definitely on the table.

They are about to have a weeks worth of online webinars laying out the new features of the new version of the software.  I'm not sure that you can register for the webinars, but they usually post them to youtube within a few weeks of having them.  It might be worth while sitting through some of them to get a glimpse in to the software's functionality.

This is a link to what they're going to be covering.

I have not. I do use the Okuma API in all of our machines. Apps written in C#

Yeah, I remember reading about that on their website a while ago, it's cool stuff.
I get that you probably don't have much time for that stuff what with the robots and all.
