Something I deduced from the movie was the that "computers" (before the machine era) were humans that computed.

Fantastic movie!

In spite of the soul crushing adversity those women faced they rose to the upper echelons of mathematics, engineering and physics. 

Success in the face TRUE adversity. Proof positive WE are the only ones holding us back. You CAN fight the machine. It won't be easy, then again nothing worthwhile in life is. So there's that.

I liked the movie very much. So much that I decided to get the book on Audible. I don't recommend the book. Maybe I was having a bad brain day, but it seemed to just jump around all out of sequence.

It truly was amazing how those women accomplished what they did. One thing I did learn from the book was that Dorothy Vaughn programmed the IBM computer using FORTRAN.

We just finished the 3rd episode of Mare of Easttown and it's pretty intense. But it seems kind of sad right now.

The town people sure are mean to her.

I loved that series, my wife and I noticed a little twist in the final episode, that, once we realized it, made us like the series even more. But it's a subtle twist.

Finishing up the last season of This is Us. It's just outstanding and I can't think of a subject they didn't touch on. Great show for a couple to watch together. I've really enjoyed it.

Watching "The Tourist" on Netflix. My wife and I have really enjoyed that show. a "mystery, plot twist" type of series that moves at just the right pace to reveal clues but keep you intrigued for the next episode.

I'm watching A Murder at the End of the World on Hulu. Twisty, turney, slick version of the old "let's get together at my place and see who dies next" plot. I like it.
