Gonna have to go back way further than 1989 to get a true glimpse of fake climate hysteria.
 It's over a century old.

I just wish we could have reasonable discussion in society about pollution and climate issues. On the left the politicians and activists make these outlandish doomsday predictions that don't come true. Then on the right they say see the left is full of BS, no pollution or climate issues, abolish the EPA and let big corps do what they want. Meanwhile our rivers, lakes, and oceans are getting polluted at high rates. The soil is being turned into dirt at alarming rates. More and more greenhouse gasses are ending up in the atmosphere. At the same time we need energy and we need the security of energy independence. We could make small rational changes that have meaningful results without destroying the economy or security of our country.

We can....

You just have to agree with the looney left 100% on everything..from there on out you can have a reasonable discussion with them

I agree, they left has a "you are fully with us or you are against us" attitude. But..... they are not the only ones to blame here.

No they are not.

Well, the Hudson river did catch fire at one point. I don't think anyone wants to go back to those days. Or the coal coked trees in London..

I remember when I came to California in 1978
I was driving a U Haul truck from Colorado and I stopped and pulled off the side of the road in disbelief
when I crested the Cajon Pass. All I could see was a brown cloud as far as the eye could see.
It's much better now and there is still plenty left to do.
I am all in favor of green energy, but it needs to be implemented rationally.

I agree with this. I am all for nuclear, it is the most environmentally friendly energy we have and is overall very safe in modern systems. I think we could probably reap a lot of energy from the ocean without causing too much harm.

I think we also need to have real discussions about the damage big food corps are doing with the current methods of ag. The runoff from fertilizers and pesticides is not sustainable and the destruction of soil from till/fertilize/pesticide methods of crops growing is also not sustainable. The pollution from animal ag is just as bad.

In my mind, that's the difference between a environmentalist and a conservationist. A conservationist uses common sense.

A conservationist says leave nothing behind but your tracks. an evironmentalist says, "spike the trees"

What bothers me most about the climate discussions allowed in the public sphere is that the earth has cycles. LONG before the industrial revolution and man really populated the place ice caps were melting, and glaciers wer receding. The sun gets a vote, volcanic and geothermal activity gets a vote as do a whole host of other things that we have absolutely, positively ZERO control over. Those things are never acknowledged, discussed nor are those discussions even tolerated. Whatever we face is 100% man-made and that's all there is to it. To that I say their "science" is more fairy tale than anything.

Should we make cars more efficient? Absolutely. Should reduce our reliance on pesticides? 100% Should we be looking for better energy sources? Please yes! Oil is a naturally occurring thing. If we don;t pump it out, it WILL come out and in far less desirable ways. Take Santa Barbara, California for example. The beaches up there are laden with tar. Why? Because the idiots won;t allow any new oil leases and it's leaching out of the seabed. There IS such a thing as responsible oil extraction. Let's look at that. But no. "Fossil Fuels are evil".

There are so many components to discuss, come up with plans, etc... but the radical environmentalists aren't having it and we're ALL suffering because of their irrational idiocy, and religion of climate change.

Yesterday the MSM was really pushing the Global heat that's starting up right now but not one mentioned the fact that the sun sent a monster solar flare that's practically wrapped around the Earth causing the heat to hang around in the Earth's Atmosphere.
