What are the most used and supported posts for 5X mills We have a MAZACK 500 5X and a Matsuura 520 PC4 and thay say it is tricky to keep up with the linking parameters? Do we need to  buy a hass? venting

I don't bother with linking parameters.  Since I do prototype and short run I had my post set to do a full retract between orientations.  Always safe, not as fast.

I have purchased a half dozen 5X posts from Postability and would not consider anything else

Camplete is an excellent solution but I'd be nervous about climbing in bed with AutoDesk
Who knows where that road will lead.

We have Postability for our 7' by 10' router. No issues. (it is for 3 axis, though, so 'nevermind' as Gilda Radner once said). We got it free of charge as part of the negotiating process before we purchased the beast.

If you have CAMplete, why on earth would you use anything else? Not to disparage Dave or the quality work he does but you already have a solution that kick ass at your disposal, AND offers g-code simulation and collision detection instead of that MockSim stuff that is nothing more than verify with prettier pictures that people keep trying to pass off.

I mean if you need help learning it, let me know, I'd be MORE than happy to help you out. I've been using it since around 2006. Maybe 2007.

When you purchase a Matsuura machine does a Camplete post come with it free of charge?  What is the maintenance cost to keep up support on it after year one?  I seen a demo of it at IMTS a couple years ago and it looked cool...

It comes included with all 5-Axis Matsuura machines... at least in the US. Maintenance runs about $1,500/year last I saw. That includes all the updates and support.

It is great software. I've configured it and use it for Post Processing even unsupported machines because it's just that much better than a Mastercam post.

We have a few customers that have chosen to not maintain the software (even though they use it). I support them as best I can. There's a lot of things that become limiting factors the longer the time off maintenance. One main problem is the plug-ins for software. There are plug-ins for Mastercam (X8, X9, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021). If not on maintenance, the latest you can run would be what was the latest before your maintenance expired. So let's say your maintenance expires Dec. 31. A new plug in comes out Dec. 30th. You can install and run that one. If CAMplete puts out a new one on January 1st, you can't install and run that one. You have to run the build from December 30th.

I've always been a fan of software maintenance. Some software it feels liek they are just taking your money, CAMplete is not that way (so far). They are always adding new stuff, and they absolutely without question fix bugs that customers bring to their attention. Sometimes within hours, but usually within days or weeks. ALWAYS within months. I found a bug one time in the morning (Pacific time) and they had a new build to test that afternoon. No lie.
