I don't see why they would need a balloon to spy on us, if they need any information they can just ask Joe for it.

China has stated it is only a weather balloon.

Is that something to believe, or not, guess we'll figure that out once it finally decends.

But for the Biden administration to claim they won't shoot it down because it may fall on someone is absolutely buffoonary. It's over Montana, heading to Wyoming, land of wide open spaces. Where only 1% of Americans live. The longer they wait the closer it will get to populated areas.

the military thinks about things civilians don't think about. What if that balloon contained something more sinister than Covid19? that is probably not likely, but that is the kind of thing they consider that we don't.

And what if it's programmed/controlled to release something once it gets over a more populated area? Blowing something up 60k feet above the ground and letting it dissipate or burn up seems 100million times safer than letting it do whatever it could do.

On Friday, the Pentagon said the balloon was above the central continental United States, moving eastward, and could be over the United States for a few more days. Its exact whereabouts were unclear as of early Friday afternoon, however there were some indications that it could be somewhere over northeast Kansas or Missouri.

It's about to fly right over me.
