You really need to do some reading yourself. I said " view" not "news". I read all the time. So sorry I did not phrase it correctly to not offend your sensibilities. I'll rephrase.

Off hand I's say I know a half dozen guys who came the US illegally in their teens or twenties.
A couple of them have been fired from good jobs due to bogus paperwork, but went back to Mexico
applied for visas, did things right and came back with valid work papers.
They are all hard working guys and good to excellent machinists.
Sadly, one of the guys I know committed some felonies as a teenager which prevented him from getting a
visa. He was from Sinaloa and was deported back to Sinaloa.... He was dead within a month, killed by
drug gangs who were making sure he was not a spy from El Norte.

The quick answer is fix the fkn world so there aren't as many people fleeing their home countries to come here. Easy right?

Perhaps I don't really understand your gross oversimplification of "letting in inordinate amount of people and throwing money at them." To me it's just rewording other people claims that the border is open and people come as they wish, which is really ignorant. Or is that not correct?

I was being sarcastic, sorta. 

We've been struggling to find employees and these new generations, while there are exceptions, just don't want to work.  Baby boomers are retiring left and right. We've lost most of our older GOOD machinists and are really struggling to replace them. 

We're running out of options so hence the "sorta".

There were immigration problems when Bush was in office, then Obama, then Trump, and now Biden. When Biden is gone the next President will have immigration problems also. I didn't suggest otherwise.

But to say there is a free flow of immigrants coming across and being offered citizenship is just  ignorant.

2.76 million border crossings in one year. That's a lot. AND that is with Title 42 in place.  Yesterday a group twice the size of my hometown came across the border. And Biden's plan was to just send them through.
