Bean counters hate carried vacation time. Inexplicably, getting it off the books helps their calculations. 6 of one half dozen of the other.
Nice that bean counters can blow up a perfectly running business.

To be clear, there were issues other than the ETO as well.

How many businesses still actually do the redundant HR work? We've been using ADP for at least three years and apparently there are a lot more of them if you read the golf pro's patches.

I just got home from my trip to see my new granddaughter.

Since our machine operator is out on strike, we've been given the ok to work from home.

Haven't decided if I like it or not.

Maybe not. There will be a vote on a new offer this Thursday. I have a feeling it will pass.

Here is my view it should be voluntary but if you volunteer you better show. 8)

The union and company started working with a federal mediator on Saturday. Today the union voted to accept the latest offer from the company.

All over time is voluntary; the insurance is what the union wanted. It looks to me like the union got everything they wanted, at least the big stuff.

They'll go back to work on the 5th of July.
