spoiler alert: Oreos win with an otherwise Keto diet, and not being a lethargic fatass.

Since Oreos are Vegan and you know how they view diet as a Cult, i'd say follow the source.

I liked how he explained lipid response. I've never had cholesterol issues so I've not had the need to go down that nutritional rabbit hole but nevertheless, I find it fascinating.

I've always believed a great many physical issues can absolutely be solved by diet, though full confession, I don't know exactly why that is from a physiological standpoint. He kind of answered part of the equation I've wondered about. Kind of a "with X body type, you're 'likely' to see Y if you modify your diet by doing Z...".

Acknowledging different body types... refreshing. Using diet to alter body chemistry as opposed to taking in unnatural chemicals that undoubtedly will have long term effects that are yet unknown... also refreshing.

I wonder if he subbed jelly donuts for the tube of oreos what the results would be. Asking for a friend.

I think the bigger issue is how many grown adults have been convinced statins are "healthy"? :coffee:

Statistically statins only kick the can down the road. They don't fix the underlying problem.

That is who they say statins have the biggest effect on, people that have had a heart attack and people with high artery blockage. In people without those, even if they have high LDL, statins don't really do much to lower LDL. As shown in this basic OREO versus statins test.

It lowers the fuck out of LDL

YoDoug

IMO, this is interesting to me. Big Pharma is totally on board with Keto and low carb diets because they produce people with high LDL that need their statins. Now, the Keto/low carb community is making a lame attempt at trying to say high LDL doesn't matter. It will be interesting to see how Big Pharma reacts to this trend. Statins are the number one prescribed drug, they are not going to just let some revoked license MD youtuber hurt their product rep.
