Junior Black belt

In the "Tempting Fate" thread I talk about my grandson who's graduating high school. He's also a second degree black belt in taekwondo. His sister will be ten in May and has been studying since she was five. She just got her junior black belt. It's a junior because some of the requirements, such as number of boards broken, are different for children.

I'm proud of them both. (And the other six grandkids as well).

Study after study shows that kids who undertake activities like sports or music that require physical and mental discipline turn out to be adults who are generally successful in their education and careers.

That discipline they learn as kids to practice their chosen activity carries over into adulthood, which gives them a distinct advantage over their less disciplined peers.  :cheers:

Good on your grandkids for applying themselves to the rigid physical and mental discipline required to be successful in any kind of martial arts.
