You quoted the question.  Then you quoted my repetition of the question.

Maybe you need new glasses?

So you think reverting to a personal attack is going to change your failed analogy?
I quoted your entire statement and commented on your analogy without deleting the rest.
Your question was directed at somebody else and you mistakenly thought I was the one you had asked the question to.
I won't return the personal attack about needing glasses, I'll let the conversation speak for itself.

You chose to enter the discussion.  My analogy was valid and on point, and the question was directed at anyone choosing to enter the discussion.  Rather than providing anything to back up an opposing viewpoint you simply chose to troll.

Well since you don't make the rules and I chose to address only one specific part of your post I will limit my response to that and you can continue your discussion of other issues with those who you were previously engaged.
My position stands that whether you're shooting blindly in the air or shooting at targets in the air you are still shooting in the air and your analogy didn't improve by adding the flying targets.

On this much we agree.  If someone is running a business that recklessly endangers people, it is well within the government's power and responsibility to regulate, restrict, or shut down as needed to protect the public.

I added the flying targets to make it a valid business concept parallel to that of running a sit-down restaurant during a plague.  If the government can shut one down, it should shut the other down.

To add, there ARE such businesses, but due to responsibility and government regulation, they operate way out in the desert where they aren't endangering anyone.

If you mean treating all businesses equally instead of indiscriminately closing some down while leaving others open I agree. In the example of shooting range vs restaurant the differences are pretty big.

You're obviously talking about the sit down restaurants here.

Gee, ya don't say?

I remember saying this very thing at the beginning, and having idiots call me every name in the book for it.

"Looser" !!!!

and that name is Not in the Book.
So you can't call me and Idiot.

Apples to oranges.
Governors arbitrarily shutting down businesses are hurting the economy and costing people their jobs.

Your silly gun shooting analogy doesn't cover that.
Ok, how about if I had a business operating a shooting range where you pay me to shoot at drone targets flying overhead.  Would it be a stupid government overreach to shut me down and hurt my profits?
Yeah, cuz THAT makes sense...

My point is that I believe the shutdowns are doing more harm than good at this point.
We are seeing more and more businesses telling the Governor to fuck off and leave them alone.
Nobody on this forum knows what those businesses are going through unless you are in their shoes, so we can speculate all we want.

New coronavirus (COVID) strain detected in the U.K. London in full tier 4 lockdown. Most European nations blocked flights in and out of U.K. Markets set for a ROUGH opening (even as they are positive on the new stimulus bill).

I was gonna post this last night but was too bummed.

The difference is that the people that would be effected by the restaurant being open would be willing participants.  If I choose to put myself at risk and those around me do as well.  And the employees of the restaurant are also OK with it then why does the government have any say.  No one is required to eat at a restaurant, but should be able to choose to do so if they want and the restaurant is open.

In your shooting in the sky scenario, the people effected (The innocents on the ground) have no say in their participation.  Instead they would be exposed to a possible danger without their willing agreement to participate.
