I was gonna post this last night but was too bummed.

Right on cue.
Since the original fearmongering isn't working to the extent they had hoped they are going with Stage 2.

Not sure which is worse: the gestapo that broke up the illegal bar or the idiots who attended it. It goes to show you can't stop stupid no matter how hard you try and these extreme lockdowns are just spawning new speak easies like prohibition did in the 20's.

I read one article a long time ago that said some authorities were forward thinking and realized these extreme lockdowns were counterproductive and simply produced this kind of activity and so they were trying to find ways to give people the social activities they were desperately craving while keeping them safe at the same time...never really heard what the outcome of that was...wish it had caught on...

Quote from: rdshear post_id=811 time=1608561555 user_id=79The difference is that the people that would be effected by the restaurant being open would be willing participants.

And everyone those willing participants come into contact with.  And everyone those people come into contact with.  Etc.  No one can 100% prevent contact unless they're living alone in a bunker; the more the young and healthy expose themselves the more they endanger the elderly and at-risk.  It's not about you.

QuoteSuperspreaders are critical infectious resources in multiple infectious diseases. They can be asymptomatic or present mild symptoms but can transmit pathogens to susceptible populations, leading to severe symptoms, and even death. Early identification of this population is extremely important to inhibit the spread of infectious diseases. Right now, the whole global world is suffering from a devastating infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). In this article, a superspreader cluster event in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was identified by tracking contacting histories of infected patients. This cluster was found to be originated from an asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 carrier, which resulted in 13 secondary cases getting infected. All the secondary patients presented with non-typical symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, dry cough, and myalgia, one of which died of respiratory failure at the end. From this cluster, we learn that people with older ages, low immunity, multiple underlying diseases, especially pulmonary diseases, can contribute to a poor prognosis. Thus, asymptomatic superspreaders of COVID-19 can be extremely dangerous and must be handled time-efficiently.

One person had no symptoms and went out partying.  13 people caught it, not counting additional transmissions from them.  One of them died.  Do you want to be that first guy, and be responsible for someone's death?

Guess which nation did not block flights from the UK for US citizens. Yup, the good ol USA.  :cheer: Cuz we all know that Corona would never infect an American.
I sure hope that the current vaccines work on the new and improved corona.

If the virus is different enough that it doesn't, you can bet that "herd immunity" will be ineffective as well.

U.K. detected another new mutation from South Africa. That's 2 new variants discovered in one week. Not a surprise, as they expected the Virus to mutate as all viruses do. Hopefully the vaccines work on them. Most think they will and at worst would need a minor tweak. 6 weeks tops if needed, says BioNTech CEO. However, what if the Virus keeps on mutating?

The 'war' is on. We should do our part in fighting it (as in... roll up your sleeves)

A study just came out indicating that immunity may last eight months or more:

A grain of salt is recommended though, as there have been other studies indicating it only lasts two or three months.  I'm sure it depends on a lot of variables.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

No Super Gonorrhea here... but the shop I work at has had 2 cases of the China virus... one guy is quarantining right now.

I haven't changed my routine much.

I still feel safe.

Fuk masks, I rarely wear them... we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas normally... my daughter used my house for her baby shower and had about 20-25 people over.

Fuk this China virus... and if I'm wrong... put it on my tombstone.

Big government isn't taking my life away from me.

I'd rather go down swinging.

Absolutely!

I'm also on hydroxychloroquine.

There's a doctor in California that I follow... he has treated 3,000+ coronavirus patients with it... and he has had zero patient deaths... and the White Coat Summit doctors that I follow swear by it too... and my personal doctor trusts it... so I'm very confident I'll be fine.

So put that on my tombstone too!

Louisiana Congressman-Elect Luke Letlow dies from COVID-19 complications. He was just 41 with no underlining health conditions.
