It reminds me of the part I scrapped out back in the late 90's when I was on a cnc lathe.
5,000 lb chunk of 17-4 stainless (or was it 4150pht?), 6 foot long, about 23" diameter-ish.
A roll die with 455 grooves in the OD, and tapered bearing journals on each end.
I took the taper .025" too small because I mis-read my mics.
My boss was not happy about that one.
