Business is booming here in KC.

TGIF and Denny's have sucked forever. I don't understand how they stayed open as long as they have. Wendy's is an OK burger but there is lots of competition in burgers. I prefer 5 guys to any other burger place.

There are also a bunch of WhataBurger franchises going up. Overrated, IMO, but I guess Texans really love them.

I know it's crazy but I got a jalapeño burger at Dennys about a year ago and it was one of the best I'd ever eaten.

Being on the east coast I never heard of them, but it sounds like they were quite successful at some point.
Too bad they are going under.

Same.
5 Guys and Wendy's are the only ones I like as well.

Red Robin has a decent burger too, but a bit pricey around here, and the service at the one near me leaves alot to be desired.

When was the last time anyone here ate at any of these shitholes? The last time for us was TGI Fridays for their potato skins, and they were out of potatoes so we couldn't get the skins. Literally the only reason TGI Fridays exists is because of their potato skins, and they were out.

Not everything is Bidens fault. Sometimes, things (in this case, restuarants) just suck.

To be fair, I have not visited my local Wendy's and Denny's in years. Both are terrible and there are much better options. TGIF is right there also. Maybe if they wouldn't serve shit for food they would stay open. I would say that this isn't a result of a bad economy, rather it is a result of consumers choosing a better product. you know, capitalism.

Not to point any fingers as I don't know that it would be any better had Trump stayed in office.

There are a few local places I go when I'm too lazy to cook for myself. Pre Covid, the g/f and I could go out for a burger and a couple of beers and walk out of with $60 bill including tax an tip.  Now, the same lunch is at least $100. Because of that we eat out much less.

We are friends with a couple of the waitresses at a place that's only a few blocks from my house. They said that their food sales have dropped dramatically since Covid because of the higher prices. They've had to implement a 'small portions' menu so they could have some things on the menu that didn't cause sticker shock.

I'm sure that our local minimum wage laws play a role in that.

Denny's used to be big back in the 70s. They had really late hours so we'd go there after an evening of partying to have dinner or breakfast.

I expect late nights at taco bell really rocked their business.

The last time I went to Denny's, and I don't even know how many decades ago it was, they were so slow it was a major commitment of time to eat there.

Nobody goes to Dennys. They just end up at Dennys.

We have restaurants opening and closing constantly. TGIF closed maybe 10 years ago, more or less. Culvers opened not long ago; I haven't been there yet but I've heard good things about it.
