I stated that I think this will turn out to be the work of a Pentagon official leaking secret information
to make the current administration looks bad.
It's also possible it was done to warn the rebels that an attack was coming.

I use the Signal chat app. It's not difficult to see who is in your chat group before you send a message.

I'm wondering how someone like an aid would have been able to invite Goldberg in to this chat group. They would have had to have access to one of these guys phones, have the pass code to get into the phone (unless it's not protected, please tell me that's not possible at that level of government) and then invite Goldberg in to that particular private group. Then, have a top secret conversation without verifying who's in the group.

If they have the signal app installed on a PC and any aid can walk in and add anyone they want to private chat groups, then they need to re-think their security.

I don't know that we will ever know what really happened.
