IMO, this is no different than some dumb bitch using a private e-mail server. Pretty sure .gov has official apps for top secret communications. Also pretty sure that in order to get one of those apps you can't just go to the play store.

Yeah, they have a whole SIPR network for comms. I have no idea why or how this all transpired the way it did.

Back before whatsapp was bought by Meta, I used whatsapp to message Canadian friends. When Meta bought them out we all moved to Signal.

My Canadian friends all decided which messaging app we used. I'm sure that all of those same people have Facebook, Facebook messenger, and Instagram on their phones. I don't have of those on my phone but it's an android phone so...

I would think that whoever started the conversation was responsible for who all it was sent to. Personally I hate group messages. It looks like to me Hegseth shared too much information for a phone chat. Fireable offense? Not any worse than previous SOD disappearing for a couple of days with no consequences.
