The company where I work has this new project where we only work 36 hrs for 4 days.
So far I really like it!
What do you guys think about a 4 day work week?

I think it's 4 to many.

We have a choice between 4x 10 hour days with every Friday off, or 4x 9 hour days and work 8 hours every other Friday.
(That is called a 9/80 schedule...9 hour days, 80 hours total every two weeks.)

I was already on the 9/80 for several years when they offered the 4x10, so I just stayed on the 9/80.
I like the 9 hour days and the every other Friday off, but when we are busy all that goes out the window.
Overtime is 11 hour days, 8 hours on the off-Fridays, and 8 hours most Saturdays.

wouldn't work for us, we'd never get enough product out the door.  We could work 4x 12 hour days and wouldn't get enough out due to paint cycles taking certain times.

I've been working 4 day work weeks for the last 20 years.

We work 4 10's though.  And quite a number of those years, 4 10's was a ploy to get us to work 5 10's.

Too many times when I was working on the floor, those 4 day promises stayed 5 - 5.5 day necessities.

Never worked out in my experience

Well, attendance of course.

Work?

Never heard of it.

Hey, that's commendable and all, but don't forget to take some time to spend with family and friends.

Did that back in 1991 to 1992 for a few months, but not because I wanted to. That is what got me really doing contract work was the fact the company I was doing a Contract for offered me a Full time position at $24k less than what I had made the years previous on Christmas eve with a take or leave it condition. I said I could only take it for 4 days a week working there. They agreed and so I went out and worked one day a week doing work for all kind of shops in the Jacksonville Area.

I'm making parts on Conventus' machine after hours and on weekends (with permission of course).  Getting really close to being able to put a machine in my garage, then I'll be able to spend time with the family between part swaps and setups.
