You would swear this was a sketch from some parody show, but nope.

Okay, let me try this: MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+.

That stands for: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and additional identities.

Again, that's MMIWG2SLGBTQQIA+. I find it helps to go three letters at a time. Like when you're giving your account number to the customer service guy, who says his name is Steve but he has an Indian accent.

Indigenous women's organizations are calling on the federal government to provide sustained long-term funding to programs addressing missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, two-spirit and gender diverse people.

So it's Canadians who are terrified of having a fraction of a percent less government in their lives.

Okay, for real, this is a serious topic. You don't want to see women kidnapped and murdered.

Not most women, anyway. I mean, there are names that come to mind...
But no. Nobody should go through that.

They're asking for the same level of investigation into crimes, as murders against native women are higher per ethnic group and the cases get far far less process time/interest from cop/feds

Agreed, the acronym is ridiculous. Let 'em have it; it's no skin off any of our noses.
