Wireless security cameras - any experience with these?

I'm trying to find some wireless security cameras for monitoring my front and back porch on my condo.  Some of these cameras look over priced to me and *most* require a subscription.  Some of the subscription prices seem high for what you get.

Anyone use any of these wireless type cameras?

I've had a pair of Arlo's in the past. They were pretty good cameras but only lasted a few years before they just stopped working. Back when I bought them, they allowed free cloud storage for 7 days (or something - cant remember) but video was limited to 15 seconds and there was a short 'cool down' period between triggers.

The new Arlos seem over priced and now you don't get any free cloud storage and the local storage is super limited so I've decided to try something else.

Last weekend I bought a couple of Wyze cameras because they are CHEAP and have a cheap subscription but found out that you get what you pay for in camera quality. They also have super limited features when using local storage.

Now I'm looking at Eufy, which doesn't require a subscription at all. No limitations on features using local storage, and you can store the feed on a NAS.

Curious of there are any other better options?

you could look into a dash cam, some can be set up to work from motion and record on a micro card

i have dlink camera's that i can record to a card or my phone and will email notification of movement but drove me crazy with a snow storm
so i shut it off motion, i just check them every once and a while

I have Ring cameras and love them. You buy the cameras and it's $30 per camera per year to go back and look at the video.

I've seen how you can set up an old smart phone as a security camera. I'm a little leery of Chinese cams. Could be literally Spy Ware.

My girlfriends daughter uses ring. They love it.  The image quality is outstanding.  The only thing that I don't like is the subscription.

Can you record to sd card or local storage on those things?

I don't have a subscription. The cameras are mine and like I said it's $30 per device a year to have unlimited review back months.

Not sure on your other questions, but my phone has the app and dashboard that shows all cameras simultaneously with notifications of movement and allows you to make settings as you wish like motion detection, light schedules, camera range, alert notifications etc. You can also zoom live video or past video. My cameras have flood lights.

I have ALC observers. Pretty sure Loews sells them.

Good Quality and very affordable. Connects to your phone and sd card.

Motion, infrared, and audio also can be connected to your PC. can adjust all settings. Timers and such.

Average was $100 per camera with a 7" screen tablet you can get up to 4 cameras.

Have had them for 4 years no issues.

Been thinking about cameras myself. Had a Ring doorbell at the last house. It was pretty good but was a pain to get going and on occasion would loose the network.

I've been doing some reading on the eufyCam 2C Pro

I want something that you can record either to hdd (looks like those that Incog mentioned do which is nice) or a base station sd card.  The Eufy looks good other than not being able to back the sd card up to a NAS.

I'll read a little on those ALC cameras.  I've never heard of them and I've been doing a bunch of reading in the last week or so.

Lol. No  We just get a lot of packages delivered here.  Pun intended.

I live at the very end of our complex in a very private end condo.  I like to have cameras on the front and back doors just in case.  The back door is right against a green belt which is about 5 miles of nothing but woods.

I have these and they work great!  phone app, wireless, audio, and charge lasts a month.  no subscription use sd card

We have Blinks. There's a USB memory option after the subscription ends. They are OK. Allegedly the batteries last 2 years. Same batteries as Renishaw OMP-400 Probes. Gonna be about $12ea. for them. I'd prefer to have wired ones with pan, zoom, and rotate but those are a bit pricey and more invasive. So, we'll see how these go.
