User on Mastercam forum d b

Has anyone been on the Mastercam forum and had any interaction with this guy that goes by d b?

All he seems to do is rant on the software.

I haven't posted on the official forum in a long time, but I've seen this person's posts.  Definitely seems to have a chip on the shoulder.

I've quit trying to help him.
He doesn't want help, he just want's to piss and moan.

Looks to have very similar writing style as someone else who got himself banned from every forum on the planet at one point or another.

I would be surprised if that person had access to, or worked for someone who had access to, a legit maintenanced seat of Mastercam.

He hasn't provided a file yet...says they are all proprietary...But won't make a sample file up to demonstrate the problem. Yes he doesn't want a solution...

What's got me is they are allowing him to be anonymous

for years I used a screen name precisely because a certain individual was stalking me, harassing me
and forwarding my posts to my bosses, trying to get me fired.
When CNC told me I had to use my real name I told them why I used a screen name and they let it go.
Then at some point, they just changed my screen name to my real name on both my accounts
 (personal hasp and company nethasp)
Said individual had been absent for years so I let it go.

Now we've got the d b clown pissing and moaning behind a screen name and they are letting it go.

I am impressed how much he got under Ron's (5-axis) skin.  That guy is one of the most prolific/helpful folks on the forums (oddly not on this one - I wonder if there's a story there, and it might almost be worth derailing this thread to find out).  I've called out d b bs as well, even this morning.  He did get a specific warning, and the forum guidelines pinned back to the top of the forum.  And a few of us have stated to him that he is alienating people and not likely to get help.  And I've certainly been one to talk shit about bugs in new releases, but I'll also take the time to try to understand at least what they were trying to accomplish and help provide data or repeatable crash/failure of workflow when possible.

This came up in Ron's rant on the official forum.  You can't change your "handle" since the forum rebuild a few years ago when they put all our full names there.  But I believe you can change your first/last name in My Account, Profile (not Forum Profile).

That's the part I don't quite understand. Why be disrespectful to someone who's trying to help you and not doing it in a disrespectful way.

That's because the last time he provided a file the problem was he didn't know .187 ≠ .1875 and was berated mercilessly for it, and deservedly so.

Reasonable question. 

Ron and I are pretty good friends. To the best not my knowledge there's no reason in particular he isn't here. He's not in Practical Machinist either. There really isn't a whole lot going on in the technical side here.

Me, I'm just here to help if I can and for the political smackdowns. 

While I may not agree with much of what you have to say, you at least are intelligent and capable of making a case for your point/position. Which I can respect regardless if we agree or not.
