Quote from: CNCAppsJames on October 27, 2025, 07:38 PMRon and I are pretty good friends. To the best not my knowledge there's no reason in particular he isn't here. He's not in Practical Machinist either. There really isn't a whole lot going on in the technical side here.

I believe that he, like many others, got tired of having to wade through insults and negativity to have a conversation. That was the impression that I got.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Was wondering if/when this conversation was going to pop up here. As soon as I read his signature I got a bad gut feeling. Was hoping someone here had a little more information.

I feel like Ron gets a lot of pushback because he tends to be sort of blunt. For the first couple weeks on the forum I thought he was kind of rude. I quickly learned he's incredibly helpful and just wants to get to the point.

Ron doesn't suffer fools lightly .... and there are plenty of fools to suffer on these forums  ::)

If you know what you're doing, it only takes 5 minutes on a computer with a legitimate license to create an account
on Mastercam.com. The account has to be validated once a year on a machine with access to that license, but other than that, you have full access to Mastercam.com from any PC or mobile device for a year.

You caught on faster than I did. It took me about two years to realize that he was just rough around the edges. And back in those days, he was one of the easy-going guys.

Definitely has issues... and I'm 99% sure they lie between the seat and keyboard. Dude has started 39 topics between September 5th 2025 and November 5th (9 weeks - 43-ish working days). Maybe programming isn't for him. :P

And in his most recent post, trolling Tom.  G's just taking it from all sides today.  At least eMC is staying calm/polite today.

Tom is one of the most solid dudes in the industry. I meet A LOT of really good and talented people... there's a few that stand apart and he's one of them. He's bailed me out of a few self induced jams over the years.

Most recently, I left my laptop at home... WTF does that when it's your MAIN tool for the job? Me. I do that apparently. Anyway, my wife was traveling with me and her laptop is my old work laptop, so I got all the software I needed reloaded... but I didn't have a space navigator. Tom lent me his spare one for the week I needed it.

Solid dude through and through.

Thanks (not) for the slur James, you are, as you well know, barking up the wrong tree. Not to give any credence to your post, but I'm happily semi-retired with nothing but good memories and total respect for my co-workers at Mastercam.
