Perp: Those aren't my pants.
Cop: The ones you're wearing?
Perp: Yeah!

I remember seeing a news item a bunch of years ago about a guy who robbed a convenience store and ran off down the street.  Shop owner caught up with him about two doors down because he wiped out, tripped and fell on his face.  Hands were full with the loot, didn't have one free to hold his pants up.  Got down around his knees and he couldn't run so good.  I about fell off my stool laughing at the instant karma on that one.

Hey, we were just talking about this.

Conservative Warning To Judges: Get On Board With Trump's Agenda Or Get Impeached

https://abovethelaw.com/2025/11/conservative-warning-to-judges-get-on-board-with-trumps-agenda-or-get-impeached/

"Of course, there are problems with this strategy. Put aside the massive hit this would cause to the rule of law, but as a matter of logistics, this is nothing more than an empty threat. Remember, it's not that easy to kick someone out of their lifetime appointment. In order to actually remove a federal judge from the bench, you need 60 senators to vote to convict the jurist — and refusing to rubber stamp a far-right policy agenda isn't going to have the votes. (Hell, even before you get to the Senate's trial part of an impeachment, Mike Johnson would have to call the House of Representatives back from recess, and who knows when that will be.)"

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

He'll just blow his whistle out to the playground, clap his hands and yell "c'mon children, back inside,  and don't forget to hang up your coats and mittens so they'll dry before the end of the day."
I can just picture them all hobble-rushing back from the pickleball courts.

I don't know if they updated the article since you quoted it, but it should read (and I fact-checked that 67 is correct - well, the verbage is "two thirds of senators present for the trial"):
"In order to actually remove a federal judge from the bench, you need 67 senators to vote to convict the jurist"

It took them a month and a half to get 60 to perform the most basic of their duties, I don't see this happening.

It is also worth noting that in 230 years it's only been eight times that a judge has been convicted.
"As of September 2017, only 15 federal judges have been impeached, and only eight have been convicted. Three others resigned before completion of impeachment proceedings."

Correct, since we can't have .6 (point six) Senators, they need 67. Requires a 2/3 majority to impeach.

They have a hard enough time getting 51 Senators to do whatever it is they do. :coffee:

67?

ESPECIALLY if it is something Trump wants.

They can't even get 67 to impeach Trump.

Trump has been impeached twice.

As a constitutional scholar, you should know that impeachment does not equal removal from office.
