Let's be honest for a minute... the golden homer's season was questionable. They had some early losses and that check finally came due and they are living upto being the Whining Irish.

I didn't watch that game, but I have a hard time believing that a team playing for a conference title wouldn't put much effort into winning it.

To me, ND can't bitch about Miami getting in ahead of them. They lost to them.

3 loss Bama? That's kinda BS.

Letting in JMU and Tulane is just dumb. There should be a path for an exceptional group of 5 team to make the playoff, say if they are ranked in the top 10 by the AP and/or coaches, but giving them an automatic bid is ridiculous.

The expansion of the playoff to 12 teams has rendered traditional bowl games obsolete. What's the point? Your draft eligible players won't play. In ND's case, they certainly don't need the $$$ it generates.

The overwhelming majority of the bowl games are on ESPN or ABC. Why would ND want to play in the fucking Pop Tart Bowl on December 27th at 3 in the afternoon? Despite their SEC bias, ESPN wants ND in that game because of the ratings they bring in. ND declining is just them telling ESPN to fuck off.

I'm all for ND giving them the finger, but if I were a player that may not get drafted I'd be a little upset. This could be their moment to put together a great game to turn some scouts and potentially get drafted.

Seems like a lot of colleges are declining bowl invitations.

Most of them are 5-7 teams who shouldn't be in a bowl anyway but got invited because there weren't enough 6-6 teams to fill the already way too many bowl game slots.

Then you have ND, Iowa St and Kansas St declining also. Coaching change for Iowa State, I don't know why Kansas St declined.

College Football needs to go back to old school bowl games. Right now they are just a money grab and 70% of the games aren't worth watching. And I usually will watch any college game so that tells ya something.

I like seeing James Madison and Tulane in there (both likely get knocked out, but its good they're in).

Indiana and Ohio State switched 1 & 2 (I figured that likely).

ND out. Good. They need to join a conference. Their basketball team is already ACC, time for their football program. They won the last 10 games and didn't get in. Ouch. (I'm ok with Alabama getting in)

Congrats Hoosiers. They laid down the D...

Yeah but isn't the playoffs supposed to be about the 12 best teams in the country?
I think giving Tulane and JMU each a spot knowing they're gonna bet blown out is bullshit.
The last Cinderella team I remember is Northwestern in 1995.

The committee is very careful to NEVER to say that.

This is a business. Disney/ESPN/ABC and the commissioners of the SEC and Big Ten are all about maximizing revenue. ND might be worth a small bump in TV ratings, but they aren't sharing any of the $$$ they bring in from the playoff games with anyone.

For ND, their TV deal with NBC pays them as well, or better, than they'd fair in a conference with revenue sharing. That deal isn't up until '29. I don't see them considering anything different until then.

To me, it looks like the powers that be are sending a message to ND to join the Big Ten or face the possibility of being left out. I mean, where is the ACC champion playing in the playoff? The only real guaranteed spots are for SEC and Big Ten schools. Every other conference is 2nd tier and their omission from the playoff will always be justified by the committee.

Coaching change for K-State as well. Chris Klieman retired and they hired Collin Klein.

Fired Michigan coach Moore in custody, suspect in alleged assault
Yeah...
I did NOT have that on my bingo card at all!
Sounds like he was banging a staffer, then went to their house, broke in and threatened to kill her and himself for some reason.

The general consensus from the Michigan fanbase is "good riddance".

Now the big question is who do they hire as the next coach?
Transfer portal opens up for I think 15 days whenever a coach gets fired, we'll see what kind of team we have left after that.

So I guess the woman broke up with him that Monday, she reported the affair on Wednesday and he was fired immediately.
He was pissed so he went to her apartment, broke in and took knives out of the drawer (butter knives?) and threatened to off himself saying "my blood is on your hands, you ruined my life".
Some reports are saying he was messaging girls during halftime of games.
I don't know of a single Michigan fan that is sad that he's fired.

The dude is seriously messed up in the head.

And most people are calling for the firing of the AD Warde Manuel, insinuating that he knew about the affair for quite a while.

^Crazy. And bizarre all rolled up in one.
