I was just making an observation on how selective people are at noticing the name calling.

It has calmed down a lot sorta. If we could get bucky to mellow the fuck out anyway.

We can re-roll tape?  See who called names first and more often?

If I call you a fuck face and you retaliate, I can't very well hold that against you, can I?

edit: I had to look it up.. I don't think I've called anyone a trumptard?

This is why I like beej so much. He can be condescending without resorting to personal insults.  :D

Beej isn't one to call names much, but man, the contortions he went through to justify being a Republican were painful to watch.

I mean, ouch man!

Beej has the gold metal in mental gymnastics for sure. Especially more recently. I still like going back and forth with him.

When we were debating the issue of priests turning over child abusers who admit it during confession - how do you turn that in to a moral debate and lean on the side of not turning over the child abuser based on morals?  I don't know how you can make that argument   That was some kung-fu logic.

Sacrament of confession and all that.
I just have a hard time accepting moral authority from dudes in dresses who like to fuck little boys.

If you know someone is abusing a child, and you allow it to happen, you have no morals. The child diddling priests is part of that equation. Could you knowingly allow someone to abuse a child and justify it by claiming sacrament of confession?

Could you make an argument justifying it?

Francis Crick (co-discoverer of DNA structure) has a quote or two on religion.  Here's one:
"Christianity may be ok between adults in private but should not be taught to young children."
Some would say religious indoctrination should be considered child abuse.

I ran across this one the other day, and I think it pretty much sums it up.
"Religion is kinda like a penis.  It's fine if you have one.  It's even ok if you're real proud of it.  But it's not ok if you whip it out and start waving it around in public, and definitely not ok if you try to shove it down children's throats."

Fire up the woodchipper!

Run the numbers. Who's more likely? The dude in the dress, or the priest?

It's the same thing.  They just call them robes to be fancy.  Liturgical Vestments, so beej doesn't have to correct me.
