and now they'll push through $2k per person with a crapload of other stuff tacked on because no one will have time to read it, and anyone who votes against it looks evil in the media.

Are you ready to start agreeing with AOC?

'It's hostage-taking.' AOC lashed out after lawmakers got only hours to read and pass the huge 5,593-page bill to secure COVID-19 relief

She has a fuckin point?  Right?
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I don't have a lot of nice things to say about AOC.  She's definitely consistent and she does want to fight for the little guy.  This is one thing that I agree with her whole heartedly on.

The main problem with her is her methods are not sound and support more government control instead of supporting the true needs of the people

Ironically, he has a place to go nuts with his political sewage now.  Other than twitter that is.

And by the way, Reko;  JO sucks.   :D

So what's with Reko and Joel Osteen?
I missed the memo on that one but I do know that he is part of the Prosperity Movement that teaches falsehoods about scripture pertaining to the collection of personal wealth. I do think he's earned a lot of his wealth from his book sales which I'm okay with from a business standpoint but as far as biblical teaching and such his books are more about self-help than they are about Christ centered teaching and I've watched his show several times where there was not one mention of scripture or Christ and that raised a red flag for me.

They will produce addendums to the current bill to change specific details like the amount of the stimulus payments. I believe those have to have 100% support from congress to get passed but I think they also have to make provisions for that change by either shifting money from other programs in the bill or changing the overall amount.
IMO they need to amend to cut out some of that pork. We now see why there was so much haggling over the bill and why it's taken so long to negotiate a final version. This bill is an abbreviated version of the HEROES act that was passed by the House in the summer and that the Senate wouldn't pass.

He's a JO fan.  He had a few posts about him on EMC.

I agree with everything that you've said.  I'll never talk about religion.  I'm not a religious man but I understand how important it is.  I think that people who are prosperity gospel preachers are garbage.  I have a few other other opinions on his b/s about his moms cancer but i'll leave that for another time.

Last time he got $4.4 mill.

He's a fraud.

Remember when he wouldn't allow hurricane victims to take shelter in his church?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I don't consider myself religious either but the definition/perspective of religion varies from person to person.
Someone who doesn't understand my view will think I am religious but what others see as "religious" I view as "religiosity", meaning the outward behavior and appearance of holiness by following "religious regulations" to purvey a sense of piousness while becoming a whitewashed tomb like the Pharisees in the time of Jesus who had the outward appearance of righteousness but were evil on the inside.

I love The Lord Jesus with all my heart and do seek him daily through prayer, devotional reading, and worship but what you see from me is my humanity on full display. Being an imperfect human being I won't try and pass myself off as being perfect or above all things ungodly but I will work to be more faithful to God by avoiding those things as much as I can while admitting my imperfections and working to overcome them the best I can. I am so much a work in progress.

I am who I am and I'm not afraid to be myself but that includes the need to be who I am in Christ as much as possible in all situations.

I understood what you meant and don't think you have anything to apologize for. I didn't take it personally and it was more like I went off on a tangent to explain my own view on the matter.
