I wonder how many Mastercam users there are in NZ?
Given the quality of the local MC dealer in NZ, I suspect the number of shops
running 2026 or 2027 is very low, if not zero.
In NZ's case, the cost of assimilation may exceed the value of NZ's Mastercam market share.

Actually, it is somewhat surprising how many Mastercam users there are here. A good chunk of them aren't current but there are a still quite a few Mastercam customers here. Not a lot of big sites though.

You're on the quality of the local dealer though. About as useful as a bowler hat with sleeves :)

I've wondered about that in Europe. The cost of doing business is so high there I wouldn't think there
are a lot of small mom and pop shops.

It's hard to tell. When I was there last time for a conference, Mastercam came up in conversation a few times. I asked about whether they encountered Mastercam much and their response was no, not really. A bit of Fusion, and a bit of Solidcam.

lol,

Dear Valued Customer,

After more than 20 years as a co-owner of Sierra CAD/CAM, Inc., I wanted to personally share an important update with you.

Effective August 1st, Sierra CAD/CAM, Inc. will no longer serve as a Mastercam Channel Partner as part of Mastercam's transition to a direct sales model. While this marks the end of an incredible chapter for our company, I am excited to share that I will be joining CNC Software – Mastercam as an Account Manager.

"You see CAD/CAM Consulting, one of our top dealers since the 1990's they saw the wisdom in coming into the fold earlier this year. You can either sell to us or don't and we won;t renew your contract and you'll be left with growing your business from scratch. Choose wisely."

That's how that conversation went.

:coffee:

I do kinda feel bad for Sierra and CCCS. Those guys' dads built those companies and they continued to thrive even after their dads' untimely passing.

So are there any dealers left, or have they all been hoovered up by the corporate machine?

Going through the Rolodex in my head, I can't think of any remaining dealers in the US. Maybe @Dylan Gondyke can confirm?

There are still several independent channel partners supporting customers, but I'm not a salesman (see title and general context of my responses for proof  ;D ) so I don't have any specifics.
