Wife was a bit under the weather yesterday, living on chicken noodle soup and ginger ale.

I am trying to stay away from her creeping crud, so banished myself to garage. I got beer, an  old office chair, and a 60" TV in the garage, so I'm not roughing it.

Started getting hungry about 7pm so I started scrounging and brainstorming. Found a packet of brown gravy mix in the pantry, saw some fresh cheese curds from a local dairy in the fridge. Damn, I am 1 ingredient away from poutine. I began praying I'd find some fries in the freezer. There weren't a lot, and they were a bit smashed up and freezer burnt, but good enough. Debated thawing some pulled pork to top it but decided against it since it was already getting late.

I have made it before with made from scratch gravy, but a Canadian friend told me that it's just better with subpar gravy. Either the stuff in a jar or from a mix. I'm guessing cause his mom who didn't love him enough made that way.

I defiantly preferer it with slightly more delicate form of gravy, like a nice veal demi glace, but it worked out just fine. Paired it a Sam Adams Octoberfest, followed up with a Shiner Bock, cause I didn't want the poutine to turn me into a ghey, libertard, Kanardian. :fun:

Oh, Smit... The Joe's KC fry seasoning on the fries makes even less ghey.
