I was sick over Christmas with shortness of breath and headache. A total of 4 Covid tests came back negative. Went to minor care center where they took a chest x-ray and told me I had pneumonia. Went on antibiotics and steroids. Got a call yesterday about the radiology report. It didn't mention  pneumonia but said I had congestion in my lungs, so I don't know what's going on.
Had a classmate just die from Covid. She used to post against vaccine mandates on Facebook.

My wife and I have had all three vaccines, but we strongly oppose mandates
This should be a personal decision, not a mandate from government, backed up by the threat of
unemployment, and forced isolation.

I disagree with the mandates unless they can give some data showing that they've worked.

Sorry to hear about that Mowens. :(

Yep. My Primary Care doc STILL is advising against it because I had COVID last January. He's still of the opinion that there isn't enough/any data supporting efficacy in that scenario, or that transmission rates are any different in had COVID but no not-a-vax vs. the other scenarios.

Given the CDC and the nutjob hack doctors they let on mainstream TV nowadays that are changing their tune on stuff every few weeks and reversing positions more often than not, I tend to agree with him.

I've been in every major airport west of the Rockies, multiple times over the last year, and the only time I wear a mask is on the plane and walking through security. Immediately after I get through security, mask comes off and stays off until I board the plane. Once I land and leave the plane it comes off and stays off until if I get to a customer that requires it. If I go to a restaurant that requires one to enter the building, I leave that establishment and find another place to spend my money. I don;t say anything negative, I just tell them I changed my mind about what I wanted to eat. No scene. Leave as quietly as I entered. Their house, their rules. My money, my rules. That's how it works. Haven't had anything worse than the sniffles once... but it was like 15 Deg. so... there's that. Out of an abundance of caution I got a test (negative).

If somebody needs the not-a-vax, get it. Don't tell me I need to.

I see Germany is back to their WWII shenanigans... putting people in vans this time. The f'n Nazis are back... and they are EVERYWHERE now.

QuoteSpiegel notes that efforts are now taking place to start bussing unvaccinated individuals to vaccination sites. And Breitbart adds that a measure supported by Chancellor Olaf Scholz seeks to make vaccinations mandatory, a notion supported by the majority of Germans, according to a You.gov poll.

QuoteOf all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I'm guessing that I got it from the T-mobile store I was at for 1.5 hrs the Saturday before I felt I was coming down with something on Tuesday. At least that's the only thing that jumps out at me. I could be wrong, I could've caught it anywhere. Being "essential," I've been working through the pandemic. Nothing in my normal schedule of things was different then except I needed a new phone before the sky was going to fall on Jan 1 when my 10 year old phone would no longer work on "the new network." Later the same day, we got pizza from Jets. I was in and out of there in less then 3 minutes. But really, who knows? For the most part, I do my business and stay away from other people...mainly because I don't like most people.

I was reading today that rapid tests are only accurate when done in a series over several days. One really doesn't tell you anything as they are not anywhere near 100% accurate.

Takes 10 days or a little more for most. At least for my nephew and his wife. (very minor symptoms, never got sick... tested positive for like 10 days)

Sorry to hear, Mike. Radiology report would have spotted something if it was serious. Just need time for it to clear. Keep us posted.

The rapid home tests that I've seen come two tests in a box. The instructions even said something like wait at least 24 hrs and test again within the next 48 hrs. All of this stuff was thrown together too quickly to be sure that it works and if it does work, how accurately, IMO.
