QuoteDude was in great shape. Probably doesn't die had he been vaxxed. No one can tell me otherwise.
Wow. So... you know with 100% absolute certainty that he had no congential or underlying factors... AND with 100% absolute certainty because the interwebz told you he HAD COVID?

Excuse me while I

Dan I've got a LOVELY bridge and some swampland you should take a look at. I'll let 'em go cheap.

Seriously. There will be enough meat on the bone you can flip 'em pretty quick.

Quote from: Dan_AKA_ROY23 on January 23, 2022, 09:34 AMWith my diet I am losing weight, blood pressure good, and diabetes in remission. I'll stick to it.

(Good find, Doug) Eating the amount of carbs you do doesn't work for me. My blood sugars would be way too high.

Exactly Dan...

This leaves no rrom for the FACT that people's biologies are slightly different and require different things, in some differening variations.

Low Carb has had me shed near 100lbs and my bloodwork, across the board is great.....I take a daily multi-vitamin and do include some probiotics along the way as well.

As sson as I start eating anything close" to the recommended daily carb intake, my bloodsugar and A1C spike AND I start putting on weight. Even "IF" I still calorie control my diet....with my biology, something about the carbs triggers my body.

If a vegan, pescartraian or whatever diet someone wants to  eat works for them, I am not the person to tell them any different.. I despise those that continually hammer you with what works for them..

Stay in your lane, I'll stay in mine thanks

Best advice I have heard.

Everyone who got the vax seems to want to justify why they did it.
Everyone who did not get the vax also wants to justify their reasoning for not getting it.

Since NOBODY'S mind will be changed at this point, staying in your lane is the best course of action.

And this is why you rarely see me participating in these conversations.  :D

Quote from: Newbeeeeâ„¢ on January 24, 2022, 07:13 AMI'd like to think my mind is still very much open.
All I'm trying to dig out, is the truth....

I was stubbornly ant-vegan for most of my life. I made all of the same arguments that people on here do. When I decided to look at it openly I could no longer ignore the truth. I can admit that I was wrong. What I thought I knew about nutrition, big food industry, gov agencies, etc. was not the truth.

For that matter I was stubbornly conservative R. I towed the line and believed it all. I have since started to try to look openly and it has changed my perspective a lot. There is actually a whole lot of issues that I agree with Libs, However, I just see the constant failure and corruption in their solutions so I can't support them. If they actually proposed solutions that would work better than the tired old R solutions, I could possibly change my votes.

QuoteStop. Not to me. I check my sugar levels. My levels only go to normal and stay normal if I keep the carbs way down. My doctor says it's working great for you.

I don't care what some study says. I know my own body. I test my sugar levels! (I'm repeating myself 😂)

The biggest factor for me is avoiding breads. Breads raise my sugars bigly (as Trump would say)
Try Ezekiel bread. It's found in most super markets. It's bread made from several type of grain sprouts. Regular breads are made from grain seeds which are the major source of diabetes. The sprouts are plants.

Quote from: YoDoug on January 23, 2022, 05:10 PMI will agree that breads are a huge factor for diabetes, But all carbs are not equal. That is the lie that the meat/dairy industry have perpetrated to push the low carb diets. Whole plant foods, like fruit and veggies are high in fiber. Your digestive system doesn't break down plant fiber like it does refined carbs, as in breads, pasta, etc.

I know. I eat plenty of veggies daily.

Some fruits are good (oranges, berries) some are not (melons, grapes) and some are in the middle but I avoid (medium size apple has 20g sugar). You check the GI index.

Starchy carbs I avoid, although I'll eat some at times just not a heaping plateful. Breads (even the healthy breads), potatoes, rice, corn are starchy carbs that will raise sugar in diabetics if consumed too often and in larger quantities.

Never said I did. Do you?

Probably old age (84). Our owner passed away this weekend. Battled covid in ICU for about a month before it won. His wife died two days prior. Probably wouldn't have hurt if either of them were vaccinated, though the outcome may not have changed. Worth the try, maybe?

All the family are against the vaccine, like it was some sinister plot to deceive us. I mentioned once to Bob (our owner who died as mentioned) that I thought he should receive the vaccines given his advanced age. He declined to listen.

Today really sucks (found out this morning)

Sorry to hear about your loss, Dan.
Yes, it may have made sense for a man his age to have taken the vax, but since he chose not to do that he should be remembered for being his own man...IMO, of course.

Fair enough. He was still kickboxing, built like a tank. Only 41. To "assume" he was reasonably healthy isn't THAT far of a stretch.
