We rented a little Honda SUV.
It had a 130 hp 1.5 liter 4 cylinder in it and was dog slow.
It got amazing gas mileage though  and I was starting to like it till I had to merge onto an 80 mph freeway
with 3 lanes of big rigs bearing down on me.

I like our 2018 Elantra Sport.  40MPG if you drive it easy, 25 if you drive it hard.  1.6L turbo, 201 HP and light weight, plenty of get up and go on tap when you need to merge.  Usually averages out around 33MPG.

SUVs are a poor design compromise for most applications in which they're actually used.  Extra weight, extra wind resistance, etc., and most people just use them as a commuter anyway.

$6.50 for premium now here in this part of Cali.
I suspect it's much higher in some places.

Betting regular will be north of $5.00 by memorial weekend.

$4.09 this morning. Yesterday I saw $3.90 on the way to work and didn't stop to fill up. On the way home it was up to $4.09. I should have stopped yesterday morning.
